Blended financial approaches to citizens powered by Climatecoin with blockchain technology to funding development projects for the climate change mitigation may hold the key to facilitating: cooperation; peer-to-peer transmission and transparency to reduce corruption; as a distributed ledger, blockchain reduces the costs involved in verifying transactions; and speed, blockchain also guarantees a faster implementation of programmed financing tasks and actions, and quick reclaim of the information and assets in the ledger.

During the roundtable, leveraging the presence of leading organizations working to achieve the global goals in Colombia, we worked towards a consensus on innovative finance.
The roundtable was split into 3 sections:
- Develop an understanding of existing coordination initiatives, and gaps, in order to inform CIFC role moving forward.
- Chart a course of action for CIFC Members to achieve impact over a 36-month period.
- Develop key recommendations for the incoming government to adopt in order to create a pipeline of bankable projects and scale innovate finance in Colombia.
While lofty, these goals represent the potential of such a proposal to the President-elect Duque’s Administration take.
